Conditions of service are tied to a specific agency and position. For a first conversation, prepare information about your education, speciality and experience, but hand over personal documents only through the designated official channel.

Ask whether selection is under way for the position you are interested in, where the requirements are published and who accepts documents. Do not take a general description of service as a confirmed vacancy.

Establish the requirements and restrictions

Check which education, training and documents are required for the chosen direction specifically. Clarify the medical examination and the other selection stages separately.

A list from an old news item or from someone else's experience does not replace the requirements of the receiving organisation. This matters especially for documents with a limited validity period, so that you do not obtain them too early.

Understand the selection stages

The Ministry of Defence's general description lists the acceptance of documents, a medical examination, an assessment of physical fitness, professional suitability and psychological suitability. The order of passing and the applicability of the stages are clarified when you apply.
