When a servicemember needs medical care

If life or health is at risk, call emergency services first. Then use the official route through the unit and medical organisation.

1

If there is an immediate danger

If life is at risk or the condition has sharply worsened, call 103 or 112. Tell the dispatcher what happened and where the person is, then follow the questions and instructions.

2

Use the service route

When it is safe, notify the immediate commander, duty officer, or medical worker in the unit. Ask the unit or medical organisation who is responsible for the next steps in your situation.

3

If a written response is needed

An electronic appeal to an authorised state body can be submitted through e-Otinish. It does not replace calling 103 or 112 in an emergency.

4

Protect personal information

Do not post medical records, injury photographs, ID numbers, addresses, or information about other people in public chats. Send information only to an official recipient and only as needed for the appeal.
